Base Building Guide
A small finished shell beats a huge unfinished footprint.
Start compact
The most common base-building mistake is scale. A one-room shell with a finished roof, a code lock and hidden storage is worth more than a castle with a missing wall. Build the smallest thing that protects your loot, then expand outward from a secure core.
Layer your storage
Separate storage from entry points so a single breach does not empty everything at once. On PvP this is the difference between losing a door and losing a month: raiders on a weekend timer take the fast rooms first. Spread value across containers, floors and — for the truly paranoid — a second small stash base elsewhere.
PvP: plan around the raid window
- Raids are only possible Friday 21:00 → Monday 01:00 CET.
- Schedule big expansions early in the week so walls are finished before Friday.
- Do not leave building materials stockpiled visibly — they announce an unfinished wall.
- Log out inside or hidden; a nametag in a doorway is an invitation.
PvE: build to enjoy
On Sakhal your base cannot be raided by players, so optimize for comfort and workflow instead of paranoia: sorted storage rooms, a crafting corner, vehicle parking, a greenhouse. Long-term projects — expanding into bunker rooms, collecting rare furniture and skins — are what keeps a PvE base alive.
Locks, flags and upkeep
- Code locks first — an unlocked door is not a base, it is a lobby.
- Keep your flag raised: it protects your buildables and marks territory.
- Check upkeep after every long absence; decayed walls fail quietly.
- The bunker/hatch system prevents stacking two protected bases into one — plan your claim location accordingly.
